LFW Stalk: Alexa Chung
23 February 2015
This has to be one of my favourite stalks so far, the gorgeous Alexa Chung! Stalked at Somerset House during London Fashion Week, wearing a divine leopard coat print and of course a pair of her high waisted denim trousers, which are from her latest collection.

Stalked: Robin, Fashion With Bangs, Instagrammer.
20 February 2015
Instagram is growing
by the second, with some accounts knowing exactly how to market themselves on
this social platform. They use it more as an artform rather than a pictorial
version of their facebook page, planning carefully each photograph to work with
one another so their overall profile looks super sleek as a whole. I recently
stumbled across one of these accounts; Fashion With Bangs, is one of the
beautiful ones with over 3.5K following her every move!
Prior to all the
fashion weeks around the world, I caught up with Robin, a Netherlands based
instagramer and visual merchandiser on how she plans and executes her instagram
feed and what she loves about fashion week. Also she’s thrown in a few tips on
how to up your likes and followers on Instgram!!
What principals do you install when planning your Instagram posts?
Mix and match is something I always keep in mind. Quotes, inspiration, outfits, flat-lays, you name it. I also really think about the layout and when I post what picture. I try to use as many pictures that are made by myself. If I use someone else's pic, and I know the name, I always give credits by tagging.
Stalked: Rosh Mahtani, Jewellery Designer, Alighieri Jewellery
18 February 2015
Preparing for your first
exhibition at London Fashion Week can be a rather daunting exercise, especially
for a young designer. I recently met with a gorgeous jewellery designer
who is doing just this, Rosh Mahtani is the talent behind the brand Alighieri Jewellery. After graduating, she spent two
years learning as much as she could about the industry, interning at Harper’s
Bazaar, working with Estelle Deve and Avenue32.com, all the while dreaming of
her collection and creating it by night.
We strolled around the backstreets
of Westminster with a Matcha Latte (Rosh adores these and has subsequently got
me addicted!) chatting about her love
for Dante Aligheri and how she’s preparing for this very prestigious exhibition
starting this week.
What do you love about being a
jewellery designer and how did you get into fashion?
I love creating pieces with a
story, and seeing that story told in different ways on different people.
As for how I got into fashion; it
all happened very organically. I studied French and Italian literature at
university, and always wanted to do something that was both creative and
strategic. Whilst studying Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’ at university, I
started making a piece of jewellery for every canto, and that’s how it began! I
was never gunning to be in the fashion industry, I just wanted to create a
successful business.
Stalked: Arantxa Morcillo, Emerging Fashion Designer
16 February 2015
Recently I connected with the very interesting up and
coming fashion designer Arantxa Morcillo. We chatting over email while she explained she sadly
couldn't pop by to see me for a little 'street style' shoot because she was
currently overlooking the stunning South America landscapes as she travelled
around the continent designing her next collection!! Excitement I thought, as I
promptly inquired whether she would be happy to share her primary designs with
me and my darling readers?! She agreed, so here is a little glimpse into the
next collection!!
Let me first tell you more about this interesting
designer.... Arantxa Morcillo was born in Madrid, before she moved to
London attracted to the creative metropolitan environment and started her
studies in fashion in 2011. Since the beginning of her career she has presented
a genuine curiosity to experiment with materials, forms and silhouettes.
From the beautiful terrane of South America here is a
little insight into this emerging designer and her next collection.
Stalked: Polina Charalambous, Emerging Fashion Designer.
13 February 2015
One of my biggest passions when blogging is interviewing todays emerging designers and in the run up to London Fashion Week all eyes are on these guys! I've selected a few of my favourites, starting with the lovely Polina, who graduated this year. Born and raised in Cyprus, Polina Charalambous is a designer that
believes inspiration comes in a variety of forms from books, poetry and music,
to personal ideas, thoughts and experiences.
I caught up with her for a stroll along the Embankment and chat about her current work.
What do you love
about being a designer and how did you get into fashion?
All disciplines of
design act as a form of expression mainly for the designers but also for the
people that choose to interact with it by seeing it, using it, reposting it and
wearing it. People wearing my garments to express their mood, feelings,
opinions, style and anything really.. it can’t get much better than that.
