Like a touch of faux fur?
If so you will love the young designers, behind W. S. Studio and their latest collection. Inspired by the Mongolia Wrestler culture, styles are loose, random and mysterious.
I met up with the two founders to discuss the brand and to find out what makes them tick..
Why did you decide to
get into fashion?
When I was young, I
liked cutting newspapers, shaping them and dressing my friends with them. Later, I was in
high school, I watched a fashion show on television, it was Dior's Haute couture
show by John Galliano, the concept was "Madam Butterfly". I felt the
show was like a dream, especially the last scene was amazing, then I fell in
love with it and I think of fashion design as a dream making machine which could help my dreams come true. So I decided to come to London to learn how to design.
What is your latest
collection about?
The latest collection
is 2015 A/W, the concept is about combining eastern and western cultures to create
something new.
What inspires you?
The collection was inspired by 70s style, Twiggy is the brand muse. I am trying to create a new
unisex look. This season has mixed 70s style with Mongolia traditional clothes
with big shapes and lots of wrapping. I have used lots of furs and
heavy wight materials for pop style jumpers to give the collection more
volume.
Best advice anyone has
ever given you?
My tutor told me:
"no one is perfect, if you can't do it, ask help from someone else, you
don't need to do everything yourself, you need a team, then you can do
everything".
What has been you best
moment since starting up your brand?
I think one of the
best moments was when the new product had been made, it was just like when a mom saw her
new born baby. The other best moment is when my cat was not lying down on my
pattern.

Gorgeous!!
