Latitude Style Stalking

17 July 2012

This weekend the hills of Suffolk were brought to life by an impressive line up at Latitude, acts included Bon Iver, Metronomy, Lana Del Rey, Alt-J and Yeasayer. To my little Style Stalking delight the festival was bursting with some fabulously dressed festival fashionistas.. here are a few tips on how to spot them!
1. Cut off shorts, the shorter the better!! 2. 1960s retro chic glasses 3. Don a flower crown or fab headpiece 4. Don't forget the rock tee!

I love these chicks in their embroidered elephant baseball caps straight back from Thailand, adding to the awesome Ecover graffiti wall - here visitors could add their stamp to the wall by drawing whatever they wanted, mostly the brightly coloured pens went on the wall and not each other!!!

Entrance into the mystical forest theatre.. if you're lucky you may even catch a glimpse of Mr Puck!

Rather addicted to Evo's festival pop up salon!

Loving Alpro's life size soya yogurt pot, with life size spoon and strawberries! Visitors were invited to sit in this.. Extremely fun!

I love this chicks effortlessly cool style and standing in the middle of the muddy puddle -the weekends main topic!!

I love festivals, everything from the atmosphere to the mud, but when comes to camping, no matter how much dry shampoo you use, you have to slightly forget about your hair and appearance for a couple of days! Well that's what I always thought.. Until this year, when I stumbled across Evo's awesome idea to set up a pop up hair salon and mocktail bar! Throughout the weekend campers can walk in and have a blow dry, hair cut  and styling, then head upstairs to use their products while sipping an Evo mocktail looking over great views of the festival. I was of course in and out of this place..

Evo, is the Australian haircare creation by Gavin Von Gavin, a scientist who has developed a range of products that are minus the bullshit marketing strategy that some other highstreet haircare brands embrace! Evo's is simply a straight talking truthful brand, as Gavin Von Gavin says 'they may not contain real honey' - love this straight talking attitude!!

It's evident that festival fashion and standing out amongst the crowd is key to a lot of visitors, therefore, Style Stalking at Latitude was a pretty easy thing to do.. Stylish festival goers were coming out of every crevice, this is so different to when I was a 17 yr old attending festivals in my wellies, jeans and baggy tees, basically anything you didn't mind getting wrecked! Nowadays as you can see from my pictures from today and yesterday, festival fashion can easily be identified - the cut off denims, rock chick tees, vintage glasses all scream 'i'm at a festival!' and I have to admit - I can't get enough, I totally love this style!

Fashion aside, having been a Latitude virgin, after this weekend I am totally hooked and will definitely be coming back next year.. and the year after .. and the year after that!!! You'll have to join me next time so I can style snap you!

Peace, Love and Latitude

16 July 2012

For one weekend a year the flower power of the 1960s comes to the hills of Suffolk for a weekend of music, painted sheep, mystical forest theatre and poetry. So I donned the Burberry wellies and set off for some serious festival Style Stalking.

In the morning I joined the awesome 'feel good cleaning' team at Ecover for a spot of yoga, followed by some energetic Zumba in the afternoon. This very fun tent was one of the most popular tents in the 'village' which is the exclusive area for campers. As well as yoga and zumba, they had a photographer taking pictures of some of the crazy dressed festival goers that entered the tent, if your picture was taken this would be featured on the facebook page where you can tag yourself... check out some of Ecover's visitors here.

Bring on festival crazy at the Ecover tent!

Loved these boys in their matching bobble hats - bought from the Festival Oxfam shop!

Right opposite the Ecover tent was the Oxfam charity tent, which was stuffed with some amazing vintage buys, from sheepskin jackets, to rails of fake fur, to cashmere jumpers for £10, this place was buzzing with people every time I passed and had a wonderful vibe!

The VW camper vans were out in force in every colour, there were even camper van tents which you may have already seen on my instagram- awesomely cool!

OK so we all know the UK is never going to produce a 'Coachella weather' festival so out came our festival wellies...

I loved this couple's style - totally rocking the festival look!

I'm a sucker for a guy in uniform!!

Festival StyleStalking is by far one of my favourite things to do, so during the day I ditched my friends at the music tents and headed off in search of some festival chic.. these are a few of the many I snapped! (Don't worry there are lots more to come tomorrow!)

After an awesome first day, I put my camera to bed and hit the night theatre and music tents for a lot of latitude lovin' !!

The Festival Stalker

12 July 2012

This weekend i'm packing my sleeping bag and wellies and heading off to Suffolk, two hours away from London for a spot of festival StyleStalking ..

Latitude started in 2006 and is a fabulously fun British festival, with everything including music to literature to poetry and theatre.. this year the Eco warrior inside me is very pleased to hear they have tons of green initives, including supporting green eco taxis, reuseable beer cups, separated rubbish bins and even a wellness tent put on by the guys at Ecover! I will definitely be paying that tent a visit for a spot of yoga in the morning!!

I think it's safe to say most people are in love with festival fashion, cut off shorts, rock chick tees and wellies are a staple, with the odd flower crown to top off this fantastic look! Style Stalking at festivals really kicked off with the serge of celebrities, now festival goers plan their outfits day by day, to look as 'festivally cool' as possible... this includes the wellies! Me being a little optimistic bunny has included super hot sunny festival pictures but we all know it'll be pouring with rain this weekend, therefore, I will of course be supporting my Burberry wellies! Wellies really are a festival essential, another brand which has hit the festival scene by storm is Hunter -They have developed whole collections designed solely for festivals, I will hopefully be snapping some of these at Latitude this weekend!

So if anyone has also doned their wellies and is heading in the same Suffolk direction, let me know and I'll be sure to Welly Style Snap you!!!! ;) x

A Fairytale Ending

As the fairies circled over Six Fitzroy Square guests arrived in their best Georgian attire for what would be a night to remember..

I was delighted to be invited by the Young Georgians of The Georgian Group, to attend their latest townhouse ball and a surprise party for the renowned and talented author Jodi Picoult.

I am a total sucker for anything fancy dress; give me an excuse to wear a corset and a tutu and I'm there baby! The theme for the party was 'A Royal Georgian Fairytale', so of course I came as a Georgian fairy and it's a well known fact that no fairy can attend an event without a partner in crime, therefore, I brought Rose as my fairy number two!!
As we fluttered around the party I couldn't help but do a little fancy dress style stalking ....

Prince Charming's worked their magic on the young Georgian ladies ... lucky us fairies were there to supervise!!!

This was a fabulous event and one of many that the handsome young boys from the Georgian Group organise. The Young Georgians, led by Oliver Gerrish, organise some excellent events and activities for the cool kids under the age of thirty. Alongside parties and other social events, there are regular trips to country houses, allowing access to private homes which are not normally open to the public.

I will certainly be signing up after this party, considering it is a mere £25 annually to join - fabulous days.. roll over Marie Antoinette, the Georgian fairy is here!!

For our costumes, we hit one of the coolest fancy dress shops in London Angels Fancy Dress - this place is a treasure trove of excitement and well worth a cheeky visit!
